At the confluence of the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, Prescott, Wisconsin, is one of the oldest Wisconsin towns on the Mississippi River. The charming river community offers scenic views, historic architecture, and the welcoming hospitality of nearby Bed and Breakfasts.

Prescott is also the starting point of the Great River Road, a 250-mile “All-American Road” recognized as one of the country’s prettiest drives. At Freedom Park, perched high above the rivers, you’ll find one of the best overlooks in the region, along with the Great River Road Visitor Center. Here, guests can explore exhibits, native plant gardens, and birding opportunities.

Prescott, WI, is easily walkable, whether you are taking the official historic walking tour or browsing the shops and restaurants downtown. Dining options showcase river views and Midwest flavors. Muddy Waters is a local favorite with its three-level deck overlooking the St. Croix and BNSF Prescott Lift Bridge. The Kitchen Table, featured on America’s Best Restaurants, offers elevated comfort food with a warm welcome. For a cozy lodge-like atmosphere, Two Rivers Lodge Bar & Grill serves scratch-made dishes and turns into a lively nightlife spot on the weekends.

Prescott’s community spirit shines during events like Prescott Daze, a September festival with food trucks, a street dance, a beer garden, pickleballs, a car show, and more. Another highlight is the long-running Flood Run Motorcycle Rally, which draws riders from across the Midwest twice a year to raise funds for Gilette Children’s Hospital.

For couples seeking a romantic riverside escape, Prescott’s small-town charm and natural beauty make it a perfect weekend getaway.
