The Silver Star Bed and Breakfast is a secluded full log inn that has been offering a home away from home to guests since 1995. Antique, vintage and contemporary furnishings are artfully blended to create an interesting and casual environment. In addition, central air conditioning, high speed internet, and for your convenience, a 50 amp, 220 volt receptacle is available for your level 2 electric car charger.
Ten uniquely decorated rooms await your arrival. You will be greeted by full log walls, comfortable hotel quality mattresses, and spacious private bathrooms. Each guest room promises a peaceful retreat from the outside world, and a restful night’s sleep.
Featuring colorful fruits, vegetables, and herbs from our gardens and trees, as well as fresh eggs directly from our pampered pets, our hearty breakfasts are a feast for the senses! Eat with the hummingbirds on the spacious front porch while enjoying the beautiful raised bed gardens.
Situated on nearly 70 beautiful acres near Spring Green, Wisconsin, the inn offers the perfect venue for an evening, reunion, retreat, or romantic getaway. The Silver Star is only a few minutes’ drive to American Player’s Theatre, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, and the unique House on The Rock. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy hiking at Governor Dodge State Park, Tower Hill State Park, and the Spring Green Preserve.
This area of southwestern Wisconsin somehow escaped the great “Ice Age” (called the Wisconsin glaciations). It also mysteriously escaped the previous ice age (the Illinoisan). Nowhere else that we know of on the planet has any such ice-surrounded “island” occurred during any of the Ice Ages. Today we call it the driftless area–unique in the entire world.
