Our location is very desirable for outdoor enthusiasts and travelers seeking an authentic natural experience. We are surrounded by country gardens, wildflower prairie and forest so that guests can venture on to our private trails, along flowing springs, perfect for forest bathing promoting wellness and relaxation or just daydreaming. We offer guests the complimentary use of our snowshoe inventory in the winter months. Just a few minutes away, Devil’s Lake State Park offers a plethora of outdoor adventures. Whether you’re into hiking, rock climbing, paddling, other water sports or birdwatching, this area has it all. Parfrey’s Glen, the first State Natural Area to be designated in all of Wisconsin is adjacent to our property. Over 100 bird species await your discovery, along with a haven of wildlife.
Our Country Inn features four richly appointed guest rooms, each with full private baths. Imagine waking up to breathtaking views and enjoying the serenity of this peaceful setting. Our common areas feature authentically designed fine woodworking, adding a touch of elegance to our guesthouse using Bavarian craftmanship. A Wisconsin cheese and wine reception is offered each evening in the Indigo Lounge. Our seasonal homemade breakfast varies daily and is served at individual 8am or 9am seatings. We prepare a three-course breakfast using farm fresh eggs and locally sourced ingredients, fresh fruit dish, yogurt, homemade granola and baked goods along with a hot entree. Special diets accommodated.
Lunch or dinner is not served, but there are several Fine Restaurants within a short drive, just ask to see the Menus of the Innkeepers Favorites.
After a full day of adventure, you can unwind in the outdoor hot tub, enjoy our campfire and stargaze into the night.
Given our ideal southern exposure, we installed a solar field of 5 adjustable base mounts, consisting of 45 panels that provides approximately 75% of our usage, the maximum amount allowed by our local electrical monopoly. We also added an EV Level 2 charging station. To ease your “range anxiety” our EV is available day or night.
