Lodging options cover the gamete from the Scandinavian-scribed Paul Bunyan and Little House on the Prairie log cabins, the Sunrise Cottage with wood from our forest on the walls, The Cottage from an original farm building, suites in our foursquare house, glamping in the Camping Cabin and Snuggalo to tent camping.

We are Travel Green Certified so our personal and inn-keeping philosophy is to be sustainable, environmentally sensitive & Eco-friendly. We have up scaled all of our farm buildings, selective harvest our 150 acre woodlot, enrolled 25 acres in the Conservation Reserve Program and rent 20 acres of alfalfa and sunflowers to another farmer. In 2022, we installed 52 solar panels to provide approximately 50% of our electric needs, the amount allowable by our power company. We have an electric car charging station.
Our Wisconsin Elegant Barn Weddings are set in a lush, green 200-acre coulee far from busy streets and safe for children to play. The Studio (first level of the barn) is available for birthday and anniversary parties, baby and bridal showers, business meetings, crafting groups, card-playing groups, and family reunions.
We offer walking trails, disc golf, snowshoeing, farm tours, yoga retreats and events. Enjoy the famous Elroy-Sparta State Bike Trail, the first rail trail conver. We are a bicyclist-friendly Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast. We can garage your bikes overnight. Motorcycle-friendly, we have garage space for your bikes as part of our services, too.
Highlighting local, organic and sustainable foods, our health-conscious breakfast menu includes hand-crafted granola, yogurt sweetened with locally sourced sorghum syrup, fresh fruit or fruit compote, Donna’s muffins, a hot entree and bacon served on the side, Nespresso or Guatemalan hand-roasted coffee, three kinds of juice. Breakfast is served buffet style in The Lodge from 7:30 – 10 am.Guests are welcome to take their breakfast to their cabin or enjoy on their porch or deck. Breakfast is available for campers for $15/person. Breakfast options are available for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, and keto diets.
Your pet will thank you for including him/her in your travel plans. Respecting guests with allergies, we have hardwood floors in all accommodations that clean easily & thoroughly. There is no deposit or weight limit for pets. Pets are $45/day/pet. Your pet needs to be leashed around the compound but may be off-leash away from the buildings. Your pet may enjoy the dog park. Our pets are Porter and Stout, llamas who are in a chain link enclosed one-acre paddock and love to be fed Llama chow treats from their mailbox. Our other pet, Heidi, a white Siberian Husky, loves to go for walks on a leash or have a play date with your pet in the dog park.
Relax in a whirlpool, explore our hiking trails, play 2 disc golf courses, enjoy a crackling bonfire, curl up in front of a fireplace, stargaze or soak it all in. Get excited about four seasons of outdoor recreation like forest bathing, hiking, strolling, bird watching, prairie plants and pollinators. Access to our trail system is included for lodging guests. Day visitors pay a trial fee of $10/per person .
We are conveniently located near the Sparta, Wisconsin Exit 25 off I-90 the “Bicycling Capital of America.”Book your stay at www.justintrails.com. Sparta has a beautiful new pool with a water slide and a splash pool for littles. Canoeing, kayaking are available on the Kickapoo, Black, La Crosse and Mississippi Rivers, with outfitters on each river. Hiking is available at Wildcat Mountain State Park, Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge, Black River State Forest and Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Night life is only half an hour away in La Crosse, with a wide variety of restaurants, breweries and a wine-tasting room.
