Crystal River Inn & Cottages is an 1853 farmstead located in the quaint and historic village of Rural just minutes from Waupaca, Wisconsin and the Chain O’ Lakes. The Inn sits on the banks of the Crystal River with the river peacefully flowing and winding throughout the historic village.
Experience nature and wildlife as you explore our 11.5 acres of Certified Wildlife Habitat with many trails, an Artesian well, a Labyrinth, short and tall grass prairies, native plant gardens, woods and historic barns. Waupaca and the Chain O Lakes offer an abundance of lakes and rivers for outdoor recreation. Crystal River Inn & Cottages is located just 3 miles from Hartman Creek State Park which offers hiking, biking, swimming, and hike the Ice Age Trail that runs through the park. You can bike miles of beautiful rustic roads right from the Inn. We’re just minutes from the beautiful Chain O’Lakes for boating, kayaking and canoeing. The Waupaca area has many shops and excellent restaurants. Or rest and relax at the Inn, cottages and grounds.
We are Travel Green Wisconsin certified and brew only organic, fair trade coffee and teas. We serve fresh vegetables and fruit from our garden and organic farm fresh eggs. We’re pleased to cater to special diets, i.e. gluten free, vegetarian, vegan or food allergies. The multi-course breakfast is served in our dining room that overlooks the Crystal River or delivered to your cottage.
